NBA Awesomeness!

I'm an LA Lakers fan. Have been since Magic Johnson graced the basketball court.

My second favorite team is the Boston Celtics. I admire their rivalry against the Lakers. Larry Bird was awesome, as well as the other Celtics of that era that played by his side. Same goes for the rest of the Lakers, of course.

Regardless of the respect that I have for the Celtics, (and regardless of the fact that I have a little Irish in me) I cheer on the Lakers whenever they are up against any other team. After the Lakers, I cheer on the Celtics.

So, I'm really enjoying this year's NBA playoffs. I almost want them both to win, but deep down inside, I want the Lakers to win it the most.

So, I thought it was total sweetness when Derek Fisher made that one-on-three lay up against the Celtics. I think that was the straw that broke the Celtic's back in Game Three of the 2010 Finals.

Now, if I could just get the newest season of the IT Crowd on DVD-- man, that would make for a perfect evening!

  1. I follow two of your blogs only to discover you are a Laker fan? Oh the agony!

  2. Awe Bobby, don't hate.

    ;-)

Honestly, I'm a Laker fan for the same reasons I grew up Baptist (before becoming Pentecostal). I started watching basket ball the year Magic Johnson lead the Lakers to their title against the Celtics. Been on board the Laker train ever since.

In the end, I like both teams very much, because they had such a great contest, to me.

Besides, where I live, we have no regional Pro sports team of any kind. For football, we're Saints fans because that's the closest Pro team in our area. For basketball, most people just pick anything on the East coast.

So, I'm getting a lot of "hate" here at home, too.

I think I'm a fan of the contest of basketball more than the teams, but I really lean towards the Lakers. Magic doesn't play obviously, but he was such a good ball handler in his day. I think he really earned the nick name.

What makes you a Suns fan? Sir Charles? I like Barkley. He's a hoot! "I am *not* a role model." He played for the Suns for a few years at least. He didn't finish with them, though.

I would like to see Nash win one. He works so hard. Would be nice to see him finally come away with a title.

So, I guess you're going for the Celtics in this series, huh?

  3. Oh, I finally see that you live in Arizona. I'd go for the Suns too, I guess. And I do think Steve Nash is cool.

Looks like the Lakers are going to get pounded. I may have to delete this post!

    :-(

Aw, It ain't that bad. I've accepted their possible fate. Game six is "do or die". I think the Lakers might already be toast.

Maybe they'll surprise us. That would make for an awesome game to watch if they do.

    And demoralizing if they don't.
